Concepts Learned

I really haven't learned any new concepts about my game topic, due to the fact that I was knowledgeable in that subject before starting this game. Although, I did find many different websites helpful when i was gathering information to complete my research.

Game Design Dos.

I will not be taking Game Design Two next year, because I am too cool for school and I will be graduating. This class has helped me appreciate games more because I have saw how much work goes into making them.

Holiday Games

I did not recieve any games for Christmas. I have better things to put on my list for Santa.

Game Demo (:

Our game demo involves a small fish collecting coins in the bottom of the ocean. It also shows the controls,information about creators, and game plot. Our game demo turned out better that I thought it would. My partner and i both worked very hard to complete it. I think that our game demo is fairly better than most of the ones created by our other classmates. I highly doubt that our game will be completed by the end of the semester.

Favorite Gameeeeee!

My favorite game is roller coaster tycoon. It involves building a roller coaster theme park and making it successful. It is a whole lot better than the game we are designing because it has better graphics and it is more fun. I only spent about 30 minutes playing video games over break because we had family game night during break.

Team Members

<- These are the members of my team. From left to right, Aaron Corley and myself, Jessicah Cross. Aaron's role in our game making will be the technical aspects of the game building and my role in our game making adventure will be decorative aspect. I will also be preforming any needed research.

My game idea is to make a diving game in which you explore the depths of the ocean.

I am ver excited to start making my game because it will aloow me to do research on the ocean and the many things that live in the ocean. The ocean is one of my favorite things so i will be able to focus on my game alot more.

Mini Game

My mini game was very hard to finish. I had alot of problems. My bunny lost its head. I couldnt get my carrot to move. I had never worked with flash or any type of game designing software so it made it harder for me.

Success

A few things that would help me more successful in my globaloria class would be: not looking at prom dresses all the time and learning how to code the right way.
I can be more successful if i just try a little harder. My senioritis is kicking in way too fast.

Taxes

Taxes are necessary to support a community, state, and country. I think taxes on things that help people should be less than things that hurt people. The taxes on alcohol and tobacco products should have the highest taxes. Things like gas and food should not have a lot of taxes because too many taxes can hurt people financially.

GDP and Inflation

GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product. The four main components of gross domestic product are
    1. Consumer spending for food, clothing, housing, and other aspects.
    2. Business spending for buildings, equipment, and inventory items.
    3. Government spending to pay employees and to buy supplies and other goods and services.
    4. The exports of a country less the imports into the country.


Inflation is when the price of goods and services increase. This reduces the buying power of the dollar. Interest rates represent the cost of money. Interest rates are influenced by the demand and supply of money

Interent Sites and Game Topic

Hello, My name is Jessicah Cross. I am currently a senior taking Globaloria. For my game topic, my partner and I chose a game about the environment. The one environment that we are focusing on is the ocean. We will be designing a game that allows you to experience the dangers and wonders of the ocean. Some of the websites that we have picked will help us by showing us what the plant and animal life in the ocean pose problems and how they work together to survive.

Economic Systems

The United States of America has a market economy.



Costa Rica has a free market economy.

My Game Topic Choice

The game that interests me the most for my game topic choice would have to be Drift Runners. To me, it was the most fun game. It wasnt ver educational but it was fun and i think kids would enjoy it the most. The game consists of a race and you have to drift around the turns. Its pretty basic but it had good graphics and the game runs smoothly. They are numerous levels and goals as you advance.

Decision Making Process

If I had to choose between participating in an after school activity and having a part time I job, I would have to think very carefully. I would start by stating my problem which would be deciding which option to choose. Next I would identify my choices which are participating in an after school activity or having a part time job. Next I identify the pros and cons or both options available to me. Working after school would help me save up money for college and doing more stuff with my friends or even getting my own car. Joining an after school club or group would look good on my college application because it would show my devotion to school and my dedication. After all of these steps it is time to choose my option. I choose joining an after school activity. This would bring me closer to my friends and help me more in the long run, and plus i will be getting scholarships for college and therefore I will not need as much money. I think I made a good decision.

Intro to Business: Environmental Issue

An environmental issue that is getting to be a large problem is pollution. Pollution happens many different ways. When careless people do not take the time to throw away their trash, it usually ends up on the ground becoming litter, which is pollution. Another way that pollution is created is my exhaust fumes from cars. Pollution cannot be eliminated completely. If the necessary steps are taken to prevent pollution then we can help they planet and everything on it. After a long period of time the trash on the sides of the roads and other places where trash should not be piles higher and higher. This causes problems for the animals and it can poison the soil. Pollution that is in gas for can harm the ozone layer. This causes what is known as the greenhouse effect. Some ways to prevent pollution are car polling, recycling, and picking up the trash that hasn’t made its way into a proper trash receptacle.

Internet Safety

The internet can pose many problems to those who share personal information with others.

That is why it is better for you if you do not share things like last names, hometown, phone number and birth date. With the slightest bit of information someone can find you, and that is very dangerous. So use common sense when using the internet.

What I want from my Globaloria Experience

I decided to take this class because I am currently a senior and I wanted an easy class. I picked this one because I thought it would be easy but I would also learn something interesting at the same time. I hope to learn the basics about making video games during my time in this class. I also want to learn more about blogging and wiki pages. From my experience in this class already I can clearly see that I will be learning a lot about blogs and Wiki pages.
